College Football upsets that could happen this season
The 2026 College Football season is right around the corner and now within 30 days of the first kickoff. Every season, some of the top teams in the country hit a slump with a game or two hurting their chances of making this year's College Football Playoff. Will the Indiana Hoosiers and coach Curt Cignetti repeat as National Champions or will there be a new champion this season.
Prior to the 2025 football season, not many or any at all ever thought the Indiana Hoosiers would storm through the regular season and playoff to win the National Championship and be the only team left in college football undefeated. There will be some upsets take place this season and listed below are a few predictions that could possibly happen.
August 29: North Carolina over TCU (-6.5) (Game will be played in Ireland)
September 3: Louisville over Ole Miss (-6.5)
September 5: Clemson over LSU (-10.0)
September 12: Oklahoma State over Oregon (-19.0)
September 12: Georgia Southern over Clemson (-21.0) - This game reminds me of the Appalachian State-Michigan upset in 2008
September 25: California over Clemson (-4.0)
September 26: South Carolina over Alabama (-10.5)
September 26: Tennessee over Texas (-7.5) - Not sold on Texas, someone will take down Longhorns this season
October 10: Alabama over Georgia (-4.5)
October 17: BYU over Notre Dame (-8.5) - Irish playing over confident and BYU sticks the "L" to ND
October 31: USC over Ohio State (-7.5) - this game is in Pasadena and the Buckeyes schedule is brutal
November 21: South Carolina over Georgia (-16.0)
November 21: Virginia Tech over Miami FL (-16.5) - James Franklin and Hokies will have one big upset this season
November 21: SMU over Notre Dame (-17.5) - Irish get cocky thinking they will wrap up the regular season undefeated when SMU pulls off the win
November 28: South Carolina over Clemson (-4.5) - SC coach Shane Beamer trying to save his job
