Former Miami Heat teammates Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro were involved in an altercation last Friday in Las Vegas at a hotel practice court prior to the NBA Summer League games played on the day. Both players exchanged words that led to Adebayo punching Herro in the face. Adebayo is one of the calmest and most easy going players in the NBA. Whatever Herro said must have been pretty bad to set him off. 

Adebayo signed a three-year, $166 million dollar extension with Miami in June 2024. Comments made by Herro in the DM questioned Adebayo's lack of defense on a nightly basis is worthly enough of a player that makes that large amount of money. 

Herro was recently traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in a blockbuster deal that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat. Last season, Herro played in 33 games for the Heat after recovering from a left ankle surgery at the beginning of the year. Herro averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. Herro was a former Sixth Man of the Year award winner and a NBA All-Star in 2024-25, when he averaged 23.9 points per game in 77 contests. 

Adebayo is a three-time NBA All-Star and was also named to the All-Defensive first team in 2023-24. Last season, Adebayo averaged 20.1 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Adebayo scored a franchise-record 83 points last March in a game against the Washington Wizards. That was the second-most points in a game in NBA history. The previous second-most points in a game was set by Kobe Bryant when he had 81 points. 

Last Friday night, Chicago White Sox rookie centerfielder Tristan Peters went four for four at the plate, hitting for cycle with one single, double, triple, and a home run. Along with the four hits in the game. He also drove in four runs and scored two runs. The White Sox defeated the Athletics 14-1. He is the first White Sox player to hit for cycle since Jose Abreu in 2017. 

Peters batted in the ninth position of the White Sox lineup last night. He is only the fifth player to hit for cycle in the ninth spot in Major League Baseball history. Also, Peters had two hits in same inning to complete the cycle. He is only the third player since 1950 to have two hits in the same inning to complete a cycle. 

On the season, Peters raised his batting average up to .303. The only two other players to hit for cycle this season are Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Chicago Cubs and Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies.
