ESPN makes cutbacks, lay off many popular announcers

ESPN has begin a new round of layoffs of notable on-air personalities, including a high-profile NFL veterans and a longtime MLB broadcaster. Layoffs are always the worst part and time for any company. Periodically, ESPN will parts ways with recognizable talent in cost-cutting for the business. You just hate to see anyone lose their job.

Some of the big names being laid off by ESPN are Ryan Clark (Former NFL player and NFL Network insider), Karl Ravech (a longtime MLB play-by-play anchor with 33 years at ESPN), Tom Pelissero (NFL Network insider), Stephania Bell (Injury expert for the network), David Lloyd (a Sportscenter veteran that's been with the network since 1997), Charles Davis (NFL Network analyst), Cam Newton (Former NFL quarterback and First Take contributor), and Bart Scott (Former NFL player and been with ESPN since 2017).

The 2026 World Cup is now in the rearview mirror, with Spain winning the trophy after the biggest and longest tournament in its 96-year history. This tournament was all about big stars possibly playing their last World Cup to those who could emerge to replace them in our global soccer biggest stage.
