Results from Babe Ruth baseball on Wednesday, June 17th

St. Wendel 11, Ft. Branch VFW 5: - Last Wednesday night, St. Wendel and Ft. Branch VFW battled in one seven inning game. St. Wendel scored one run in the top of the first inning. Then VFW scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning to lead 2-1. St Wendel rallied back scoring two runs in the top of the third inning to regain the lead at 3-2. VFW tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the third inning. St. Wendel took control of this matchup in the top of the fourth scoring four runs and another four runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat VFW 11-5. 

 - For the season, St. Wendel improved their season record to four wins and two losses. VFW's season record fell to one win and three losses. St. Wendel remained in second place of the South Gibson Babe Ruth League Standings. 

 As a team, St. Wendel had 13 hits on the 11 runs scored in their win. Holden York went 3-for-5, with a double, three runs, three RBIs, and two stolen bases. York was also the winning pitcher for St. Wendel going five innings, allowing four hits, three runs, two walks with nine strikeouts. Nathan Seagert closed out the game on the pitcher's mound for the final two innings, giving up three hits, two runs, three walks, with five strikeouts. Seagert at the plate, went 3-for-4, with two doubles, three RBIs, three runs, and two stolen bases. Garrett Lintzenich went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI, and a run scored. Carson Lupfer went 1-for-5 with a double, two runs, and a stolen base. Easton Reising went 1-for-3, with one RBI, one walk, once hit by a pitch, and two stolen bases. James Wannemuehler went 1-for-3, with two RBIs, and a walk. Joseph Wannemuehler went 1-for-1 hitting. Harrison Stofleth went 1-for-1 hitting with a run. 

 VFW had seven hits on their five runs scored. Keagan Martin went 1-for-4 with one RBI and a stolen base. Axle Stewart went 1-for-3, with a double and a run. Waylon Lamson went 1-for-2 hitting. Raylan Morgan went 1-for-3 with a run. Kameron McIntire went 1-for-2 with a run and a walk. Kaigan Nossett went 1-for-3, with two RBIs. Lucas Ivy went 1-for-2, with a run and a stolen base. Kaigan Nossett took the loss pitching for VFW going 3.1 innings, allowing six hits, seven runs, five walks, with five strikeouts. Keagan Martin finished the games final 3.2 innings, giving up seven hits, four runs, six walks with four strikeouts. 

St. Philip 16, Reinbrecht Homes (Haubstadt) 7: This matchup was close with Reinbrecht Homes leading 7-6 after five innings of the game played. In the bottom of the sixth inning, St. Philip scored ten runs to move on and win by the final score of 16-7. St. Philip remains at the top of the South Gibson Babe Ruth Standings with an undefeated record of 4-0. Last year, St. Philip had two wins last year and this year have doubled their win total making a drastic leap in the league standings. Carter Salee of St. Philip was awarded the winning pitcher in the game. Salee threw four innings, allowing five hits, three runs, three walks, with seven strikeouts. Eli Scheu started the game for St. Philip going three innings, giving up three hits, four runs, three walks, with five strikeouts. Lucas Sexton took the loss pitching for Reinbrecht Homes. 

 As a team, St. Philip had 14 hits on the 16 runs scored. Ozzy Reyher went 3-for-3, with a double, four RBIs, two runs, three stolen bases, and hit by a pitch. Riley Elfrich went 3-for-5, with a double, three runs, one RBI, and two stolen bases. Noah Carl went 2-for-4, with three runs, one walk, and a stolen base. Jameson Joffray went 2-for-3, with a double, three runs, two RBIs, two stolen bases, and hit by a pitch. Carter Salee went 1-for-4, with a double, three RBIs, two runs, one stolen base and hit by a pitch. Eli Scheu went 1-for-3, with two runs, two RBIs, two walks, and four stolen bases. Elijah Moore went 1-for-4, with two RBIs, and a run. Collin Anslinger went 1-for-1, with a run batted in and a walk. 

For Reinbrecht Homes, they had eight hits on the seven runs scored. Anthony James went 2-for-4, with a double. Lucas Sexton went 2-for-4, with a double, two RBIs, one run, and two stolen bases.
