Recently, former college basketball player Kerr Kriisa was arrested and indicted on a $2.2 million fraud scheme. Kriisa is a six-foot, three inch guard who played for four different schools over a six year period. Kriisa played basketball at Kentucky, Arizona, West Virginia and last season at Cincinnati.  

Kriisa allegedly carried out a scheme to obtain millions of dollars from mutiple victims using false identity, false representation, and deceptive communications. He ran this scheme for over four years. Kriisa convinced one victim to send him money, saying his mother had cancer and needed treatment. In another situation, Kriisa also once posed as his mother telling a victim he needed money to save his families farm and received around $100,000. 

The Department of Justice has hammered down on cases like this and Kriisa is the latest that has been indicted for bribary and gambling schemes. 

Last season at Cincinnati, Kriisa averaged 5.8 points per game and 3.0 assists per game before separating his shoulder last February, ending his season. Kriisa missed 127 basketball games over six seasons due to injuries.
