Folarin Balogun eligible to play against Belgium

United States star striker Folarin Balogun was originally suspended for tomorrow's match against Belgium. During the Bosnia-Herzegovina contest, Balogun received a red card in the sixty-fourth minute and was not eligible to play against Belgium on Monday in the round of sixteen of the World Cup.

FIFA did not agree with the officials call and suspended the red card given to Bolagun. Now that Balogun can play against Belgium. This improves the chances for the Americans to beat Belgium and make their first World Cup quarterfinal since 2002.

Chestnut, Sudo defend hot dog title

The Nathan's Famous hot dog eating contest marked the United States' 250th birthday last Saturday morning with a pair of defending champions reigning again in Coney Island.

Record-holder Joey Chestnut took down 66 hot dogs to claim the Mustard Belt for the 18th time. Chestnut still holds the all-time record of 76 franks in a contest. Miki Sudo put down 38.75 hot dogs for her record 12th victory. Sudo holds the women's all-time record with 51 hot dogs in a 10-minute session.

Contest sponsor of Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs was sold in January to packaged meat company Smithfield Foods. The event, which dates back to 1972, is held in front of the original Nathan's Famous' restaurant in New York's Coney Island.
