St. Philip remains undefeated, sweeps Parts City in doubleheader

St. Philip 11, Parts City Auto Parts (NP) 8 (Game 1): Last Tuesday night from North Posey High School, St. Philip traveled to play against Parts City Auto Parts. Nineteen runs scored between the two teams with St. Philip winning by three scores. St. Philip scored three runs in the first inning, four in the second, and four in the third to cruise to the win. Parts City scored three runs in the second inning, one in the third, and four in the fifth in the loss. Parts City was held to four hits in the game as a team. Hunter McManus 1-for-3 with a double and scored a run. Carter Debes went 1-for-1, with two runs, one walk and once hit by a pitch. Caden Wright went 1-for-2, with two RBIs and one run. Bailey Wathen went 1-for-3, with two RBIs and a stolen base. Wright received the loss pitching for Parts City. For the game, Wright threw four innings, allowing ten hits, eleven runs, four walks, with seven strikeouts. St. Philip had eleven hits on the eleven runs scored as a team. Parts City's season record dropped to two wins and three losses. St. Philip scored a run or more in all five innings of game two. Riley Elfrich received the win pitching for St. Philip by going the distance of all five innings, allowing three hits, two runs, six walks, with ten strikeouts. Ian Carlberg got the loss pitching for Parts City. Carlberg threw two innings allowing four hits, three runs, three walks, and two strikeouts. Parts City had three hits in the game. Bailey Wathen (1-for-3), Carter Debes (1-for-3), and Brantley Wilkey (1-for-2) each had a hit apiece for Parts City.
