Team USA easily beats Chile in FISU Semifinal 107-40

The Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball team is representing Team USA at the 2026 FISU Games in Lima, Peru this week. Last Saturday was the semifinal game between the Americans against Chile. Today's starting lineup for Team USA consisted of Markus Burton, Bryce Lindsay, Jaeden Mustaf, Vaughn Karvala, and Aiden Sherrell.Team USA started off the game with a 22-7 advantage in the first quarter and ended the period with a 34-12 lead.
In the second quarter Team USA outscored Chile 31-8 to take a 65-20 lead to the halftime break. During the third quarter, Chile played their best basketball at this part of the game with the Americans only outscoring their opponent 18-16. After three quarters of play, Team USA led 83-36. The American kicked their game back into overdrive in the fourth quarter outscoring Chile 24-4 to coast to a 107-40 win.
With the win, this will put Team USA in the championship game on Monday, July 27. In the other semifinal matchup, Virgin Islands defeated Argentina 63-61. Team USA will play Virgin Islands in the championship, while Argentina will play Chile in the third-place game. Indiana University freshman Vaughn Karvala led Team USA in scoring with a game-high of 16 points. Darren Harris scored 15 points for the Americans.
