Team USA (Indiana University) destroys Peru in FISU basketball opener

The Indiana University Hoosier men's basketball team is representing Team USA in the FISU Games hosted by Peru. Indiana's first opponent was against Peru last Tuesday evening. This contest wasn't too hard for Team USA as they blow out Peru by the final score of 115-36. Team USA opened the first quarter with a 28-10 advantage.

In the second quarter, Team USA outscored Peru 31-12 to extend their lead up to 59-22 at the halftime break. During the third quarter, Team USA scored 31 points to Peru with six to then lead 90-28 after three quarters of the game played. The fourth quarter also went to Team USA winning the final period 25-8 to cruise to a 115-36 victory.

Seven players for Team USA scored in double-digits led by Aiden Sherrell with a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Peru. Next up for Team USA is a contest against Virgin Islands on Thursday, July 23 at 5:00 PM streaming live on YouTube.
