Titans, Vikings, Wildcats XC compete at Boonville Pioneer Invitational

Last Saturday morning, Gibson Southern, Mount Vernon, and North Posey boys/girls cross country teams competed in the Boonville Pioneer Invitational. Kylee Waninger of Heritage Hills was the individual overall winner of the girls race with a time of 19:59.6. The winner of the boys race was Nathan Hollinden of Tell City with a time of 17:04.2. 

One hundred, ten runners competed in the girls' race. Gibson Southern girls dominated the meet winning as a team with a low score of 56 points. Four Lady Titan runners placed in the top fifteen spots of the 3.1 mile course. Lucy Scherer placed fourth, Sophie Wright in fifth, Emma Fuhs in tenth, and Heidi Heldt in fifteenth place for the Lady Titans. 

Rowen Englebright of North Posey placed third overall in the race and Lady Viking freshman Lyla Hautman finished seventh overall. North Posey as a team placed third with 84 points. Madison Cooper of Mount Vernon was her teams best runner placing twenty-third in the race. The top five runners for both Gibson Southern and North Posey each placed in the top thirty positions. 

In the boys’ competition, there were 128 runners in the five-kilometer race. Tell City came in first place with a low score of 96 points. Heritage Hills was second with 98 points. Gibson Southern placed fourth as a team with 114 points. 

Four Titan runners placed in the top 25 places (Matt Wilzbacher-12th, Raylan Boop-13th, Gavin Schwartz-20th, Adam Wilzbacher-23rd). Mount Vernon as a team, placed sixth with 188 points. The top Wildcat runner was Marcus Riecken placing seventeenth overall. North Posey boys finished twelfth as a team with 254 points. Freshman Warren Bowers placed thirtieth overall and was the Vikings top runner.
