Vikings sweep Golden Arrows to win regional crown

The North Posey volleyball team competed in the IHSAA Class 2A Regional Championship last Saturday night from Loogootee High School in front of a good size Viking crowd in attendance. This contest for the most part was controlled by North Posey, but there were a few times when Sullivan fought back and refused to go away.

North Posey won a tough first set by the score of 27-25. In the second set, the Lady Vikings trailed Sullivan 8-3. Then North Posey made a 22-8 run and beat Sullivan 25-16. At this point of the matchup, the Lady Vikings had the upper hand and were up 2-0. North Posey only needed one more set to win their schools second ever regional championship.

During the third set, North Posey looked in control of the game and walked away with a 25-22 victory to get another regional championship and their first since the 2021 season. Next up for the Lady Vikings is this Saturday morning from Bedford North Lawrence when they play against Heritage Christian with a start time of 11:00 AM, Central Standard Time. If the Lady Vikings win their morning matchup, they will play the winner of Indianapolis Scecina or Trinity Lutheran on Saturday night for the semi-state championship at 6:00 PM, Central Standard Time.

If you cannot make the trip to Bedford on Saturday, but want to see the Lady Vikings play. You can watch the games on the IHSAA Champions Network online for a fee of $12 for the one North Posey game or $20, which will give you access to all the semi-state volleyball games around the state for the day.
